Angelicum ex-Vice-Rector appointed relator of the Apostolic Signatura
Pope Benedict XVI has just appointed relators of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura. Among them is Fr. Bruno Esposito O.P., professor at the faculty of canon law and ex-Vice-Rector of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
The Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura is the highest judicial authority in the Catholic Church (apart from the Pope himself, who is the supreme ecclesiastical judge). In addition, it oversees the administration of justice in the Church.
