Monshau, O.P. professor of liturgy, homiletics and spirituality at the Angelicum.
The Maltese Dominican Province organized the Fourth Congress
of preaching with the theme: The Word: From the Desert to the City between the
15th and 17th November 2012. The main speaker at this Congress was Fr. Michael
Monshau OP, a Dominican from America, who has a doctorate in Homiletics. Fr. Monshau teaches at St. Thomas Aquinas
University in Rome (Angelicum) and also conducts courses at the Dominican
College of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, California, USA. He is also author and editor of several
books, including The Grace and Task of Preaching(Dominican Publications, Dublin
2006).

Dr. Giovanni Patriarca will examine some of the deeper
causes of the present economic and cultural crisis affecting the West. He will
argue for a return to fuller concepts of freedom grounded in Christian truth as
one way of combating the apathy that has contributed to many of our
contemporary problems.
The Novak Award is named after the distinguished theologian
and social philosopher, Michael Novak. The $10,000 award acknowledges and
rewards those who, relatively early in their academic careers, have made
significant contributions to the study of the relationship between religion and
economic liberty.

Il Premio Novak
prende il nome dal distinto teologo e filosofo sociale americano Michael Novak.
Il premio di $10.000 è destinato a nuove ricerche accademiche svolte da
individui all'inizio della loro professione che hanno dato contributi
significativi allo studio dei legami tra teologia e libertà economica.

The election of the President of ASPUST will take place on
Tuesday 20th November 2012 in the Aula Minor (Aula San Raimondo).
In order to facilitate this academic event the lecture of
the second hour (9.30-10.15) is suspended.
Classes will re-commence regularly from the third hour
(11.30)
Any student who wishes to stand for the post of the
President of ASPUST must submit his/her credentials along with a proposed
programme to either Fr. Rector or in the General Secretariat Office not later
than 15th November 2012.

Ogni anno la comunità
ecumenica di Taizé organizza un raduno giovanile di preghiera in una diversa
capitale europea. Quest’anno l’incontro è a Roma, dal 28 dicembre al 2 gennaio. Partecipare come
giovane “volontario pietre vive” significa arrivare due giorni prima per
ricevere una formazione intensiva storico-artistica e teologica, così da poter
guidare tutti gli altri giovani dal 29 in poi con visite artistico-spirituali
in luoghi come Piazza San Pietro, San Luigi dei Francesi (Caravaggio), Il Gesù,
Sant’Ignazio, San Clemente, il Colosseo, i fori imperiali,…

Internazionale di II livello in Didattica della Shoah dell’Università degli
Studi Roma Tre e con l’Ufficio per la Pastorale scolastica del Vicariato di

dal titolo La tragedia
della Shoah: una sfida per la didatticadel Prof. David
Meghnagi, Università degli Studi di Roma Tre e del Prof. Frediano
Sessi, Università di Brescia avrà luogo mercoledì 7 novembre, 2012 alle ore 18.00presso la Pontificia Università
Gregoriana e non presso l’Università Roma Tre come precedentemente
annunciato.
La particolarità
di questo primo appuntamento e dei successivi incontri consiste nel farsi
carico della diversità degli approcci che negli ultimi 60 anni hanno caratterizzato
il dibattito e la memoria della Shoah in Italia e in Europa. Cogliendo la
complessa sfida posta dalla questione della trasmissibilità, l’intero
Ciclo La Shoah tra memoria e storia si prefigge
di reperire criteri ermeneutici e metodologici per affrontare adeguatamente la
commemorazione della Shoah nel XXI secolo.

On Monday 1 November
2012 on the Solemnity of All Saints 15 Rectors and Presidents/Vice
Presidents from Catholic Universities from four different continents concluded
their one week of study in Rome with a tour, University presentation and dinner
at the Angelicum.
The study week
(October 28-November 1), at which our Rector Fr. Constanzo Adam, OP
participated, was sponsored and organized by The International Federation of
Catholic Universities and the Academic Team of the Leading Catholic
Universities in the 21st Century program. This study-week , a natural
continuation of the first session held at Assumption University in Bangkok last
April, enabled participants to discuss with colleagues progress on the
implementation of their development plans and to receive further advice from
the academic team and their peers. This session followed through on several
themes raised in Bangkok in terms of operational issues and research
reflections.
