The Catholic University between Secularization and Identity
Running for ten days in September 2013, the sixth annual summer school for students from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) was organized by the Angelicum's Faculty of Social Sciences under the title "The Catholic University between Secularization and Identity" (CUSI). 26 students from 14 different CEE countries heard 9 speakers from 9 countries address various aspects of the Catholic identity of universities, starting from Pope John Paul II's document on Catholic universities entitled "Ex corde ecclesiae". The students also had to work in groups to propose a course on Catholic identity for a university of their choice, and the quality of their final presentations was the best possible measure of the success of the summer school.
