John Paul II Event

The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas participates in the joyous occasion of the canonizations of its most renown alumnus Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II with a "John Paul II Event" on Friday 9 May 2014 beginning at 9:30 am with the unveiling of a plaque outside Aula 11 to commemorate the hall where Karol Wojtyla defended his doctoral dissertation in June 1948 entitled "Question de fide apis S. Joannem a Croce -The Question of Faith in the Works of St. John of the Cross" under the oversight of Prof. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, OP.  This will be followed by an official opening and blessing of the "St. John Paul II Museum" where academic objects of his time at the Angelicum (1946-1948) will be displayed together with photos of his two visits to his alma mater (1979 and 1994).  The event concludes with a reception in the Sala delle Colonne.
